One of the many features of SmartEyePix is its frame catalog.
The SmartEyePix from PFO Global is smarter than ever. This latest generation has high-definition dispensing technology and can also be used as a measurement, consulting, and management system for your optical business—all in one desk-mounted unit.
FRAMES The frame try-on/lifestyle feature brings the value of SmartEyePix front and center. Patients can see themselves on the screen and compare up to four frames simultaneously. What if they can’t decide? Simple! They can e-mail the pictures of themselves wearing the different frames to friends and family for help. To facilitate use, the new SmartEyePix has dual screens: one faces the optician and the other (with the camera and measuring laser) faces the patient.
MEASUREMENTS Once the frame has been selected, the advanced measuring feature makes getting accurate measurements a snap. With the patient sitting in a normal, relaxed position in front of the device and the frame pre-adjusted on their face, the unit’s measuring head is adjusted to the proper height. A precise low-density laser measuring unit and camera take monocular and binocular pupillary distance (PD), monocular and binocular near PD, vertex distance, wrap angle, pantoscopic tilt, and calculations of inset. SmartEyePix’s unique facial recognition system doesn’t require awkward attachments to the frame to take these measurements.
LENSES The lens consulting section is a great way to educate patients and recommend lenses. For example, you can discuss and demonstrate the advantages of lens materials such as the thickness and weight of selected materials in relation to the patient’s prescription. The SmartEyePix even demonstrates the visual and cosmetic benefits of photochromic, tinted, polarized, and anti-reflective lenses, emphasizing the significance they can have on different lifestyles and activities.
CONTACTS If your office fits and dispenses contact lenses, you might also be interested in the contact lens consultation feature. Patients can see themselves in up to eight different contact lens colors without having to mess with solutions or try them on. The optics of lenses like multifocal contacts can also be simulated to help educate presbyopic patients.
SmartEyePix works as a measurement, consulting, and management system for optical businesses.
EYE CLOUD Another upgrade to the SmartEyePix is the connection to the PFO “Eye Cloud” server that contains patient information management and ordering services. This means less software expense for the practice and convenient services.
For starters, SmartEyePix information is kept on the cloud. Contact lens data, frame data, a lens/frame compatibility database, ordering, insurance and claims, and lab fulfillment capabilities make the cloud truly a one-stop shop for the optical business. For example, there are services for ordering frames, lenses, and contact lenses. Even disposables like solutions and eye drops can be ordered with the complete order management system. For managed vision care, the HIPAA-compliant tool can easily verify benefits and manage claims. This module even connects to the office private order site for accounting and patient services.
Adding the SmartEyePix to your practice will help bring it into the future.
